A Star Tunnel!

The boys have been interested in outer space lately and so we have been talking, reading, and watching about planets, stars, constellations, the solar system, ect. Well, in all of our fun we found another great use for moving boxes! We taped three of the boxes together in a long tunnel and then punched holes through the top and sides some in the shape of constellations, some bigger for planets, and then little ones all over. The boys had a blast punching holes in the boxes! Then they crawl in and you close the ends and the stars light up all around them! They loved it! Except for when Ryan and Kayden bonked heads as you can see by Ryan's tears in the second picture. I am always so amazed at the fun ideas that come into my head and materials that end up in my hands! I'm so grateful that my Heavenly Father cares so much about my children's love for education and learning!

Only an inch long, and yet they still belong

We are over joyed to introduce you to the fifth member of our wonderful family! Mom had an appointment with the doctor yesterday and saw a strong heart beat so everything looks wonderful. Mom feels like she has the flu 24/7 so all is going as normal as can be! The boys are so excited at the thought of another baby in the family! Kayden says he doesn't care about the gender he just wants a baby. Richard and I are thinking we would like a girl this time around. Mom found some 3-D pictures of babies at all the months of pregnancy and what the baby is growing at those months and so we are all watching and following our baby grow, which the boys think is way cool! Kayden is way excited to tell anyone how his baby is growing bones and muscles this month! We couldn't be more excited!
P.S. The baby is due September 15

Our Family!

The boys were getting confused on which grandpa or which grandma and so we decided it was time to do a family tree! Mom cut out every one's picture and the boys pieced together their own family tree. They even had fun decorating a frame to go around it and now it is hanging on their bedroom wall. It was so cute! They did not have their brothers picture on their family tree next to their picture at first but then when I said that they were done kayden almost in tears asked where Ryan was because Ryan is his best friend and so he needs to be on his family tree too! So mom printed out an extra picture of each boy and they added each other to their family trees! It's so great to have family!

Race Car Drivers!

Today at story time the boys learned the letter R for race cars! They even had their own drivers license made. Kayden was pretty disappointed when he finally realized that it was not a real drivers license and he couldn't drive us home. They just want to grow up too fast! We had fun and their licenses turned out so cute!

Doing a room on a budget!

Ryan got a boat bed and so the boys have had a ball sailing away on Pirate adventures for a while now. We finally decided to do his room as a pirate ship! We made a pirate flag, a sail, ocean animals and waves under the boat, and an X on the door to the closet to mark where the treasure chest is full of toys. It turned out very cute and the boys love it! We also had fun learning about boats, what makes them sail, pirates, and ocean animals! All this for only $2.50! You can't beat that!

Kayden has now decided that he wants his room to be a dinosaur jungle with his bed being a castle. Wish me luck with that one!

Little Red Riding Hood

Yesterday we read the little red riding hood and made collages out of the color red. The boys had fun looking through magazines and finding everything that is red.

Huge Icicles!

We have had some huge icicles on our house this winter and it has been fun to watch them grow and break some off for the boys to eat! This picture shows one and this icicle was even bigger but part of it broke off before we took the picture! It used to go up to Kayden's shoulders but as you can see it was at his waist!

Happy Valentines!

Well, Richard and I went to our stake dinner and dance because they provided a nursery! Hurray! We were so excited to have some time together but of course even with toys, movies, kids, and pizza Ryan would not stay in the nursery for over ten minutes. He joined us for dinner and then Richard tried to go drop him off again. I saw Richard walking quickly back to me without Ryan and he came up to me and said, "I heard Ryan crying as I was coming back so lets quick dance before he comes back!" We got almost two dances in and Ryan was back and joined us for a couple of dances. Then we grabbed Kayden to dance some fast songs before we left. We had a nice night.

Valentines!

We had such a fun day yesterday thanks to our amazing friends in Mountain View! We headed over there for a fun card party by the amazing card maker Annie. Then we had lunch with dad (dad was so excited to take a full hour lunch), and then the kids got to play again at a Valentine party at Kara's house, which we had a blast at! The kids decorated cookies and exchanged darling valentines, and then we were able to go to Debra's house and play with Kayden's friend Joseph (we had to wait for him to get home from school). Joseph was so excited to see Kayden and kayden was sad when it was time to leave Joseph's house! Then we were able to pick up dad and go over to Tina and Dave Coopers house to enjoy a wonderful dinner! We are blessed to have so many wonderful friends! Sadly mom forgot to take pictures but here is a picture of the boys with their valentines package from Nana that they have had fun with today!

Learning about Mail!

We had a Micheal Angelo moment and decided to paint masterpieces on cardboard. Then we decided to learn about how to mail things and we had Kayden write the names and mom wrote the street names and house numbers, we took them to the post office, purchased postage, and mailed them off! Nana and Papa received them and sent us pictures to show the boys the end of our pictures journey. Kayden was so surprised and excited to see the picture of Nana and Papa with their pictures!

Snowman!

The snow dumped on us last night and so we went outside and had fun in the snow today! Ryan sadly did not last long. He is still of the age where is falls in the snow once and is back in the house, but Kayden and I built two snowmen and had fun climbing the piles of snow made by bulldozer that plowed our road!

Making Music!

We watched a music Blues Clues and decided to be like Blue and make music with water and glass glasses! We also watched a Magic School Bus show and learned about vibrations, sounds, and high and low pitches. Learning is so fun!

A new Superhero!

You know how you get stuck saying a certain word that you don't think is bad until you hear your child say it and then you realize that you probably need to stop saying it. That is the way it has been for Richard and I with the word 'crap'. I must share a funny experience with this though...We were sitting around the computer while Richard was checking his sports and he yelled out "crap man!" Well, just before then Kayden and I were talking about batman and so Kayden turned to his dad and asked, "who's crapman? What super powers does he have?" Children are so innocent and way too funny!

We also had another incidence involving this crapman. We were talking about birthdays and I asked Kayden what kind of birthday cake he wanted, spiderman, batman, transformers. He thought for a moment and then announced that he wanted a crapman cake! I hope he forgets this idea before his birthday but if not mom is going to have to get creative!

Ryan has a silly hat!

On Blues Clues they sing a song about Steve having a silly hat, well Ryan now thinks that it is so funny to grab my rags and put them on his head and sing that song. He can't say the words so he just says, "do, do, do, hat!" Too cute!

Blues Clues

Richard and I were running around the house doing things yesterday and all of a sudden Richard stopped and motioned me over to where the boys were sitting and watching Blues Clues. Ryan had totally fallen asleep. It must have been for some time because he was completely out, he even moaned and twitched once. It was too cute!

The Little Red Hen

We read about the little Red hen who made bread today. We learned about the steps to make bread, and then we took different colors of butter and painted our own bread(well actually toast)! The boys loved how they could eat their paintings!

Getting Ready for Valentines!

On Wednesday we read a Blues Clues book about chocolate cookies with heart sprinkles that made Blue smile so we made chocolate valentines cookies with hearts on them and they made us and our tummies smile!!

Play date!

We had a very fun play date on Tuesday with our great friends Trace and Kennedy! It was too funny because the favorite toy were the box cars that we made and cost us absolutely nothing! I even ended up making a cute one with a bow on front so Kennedy could have one! They had a ball!

Fingers!!

Our boys call olives fingers because they put them on all of their fingers before they eat them! Nut nuts!

Near miss!

It is with scary memories that I report what happened to me and the boys today. We were driving to the bank and had just barely entered an intersection when a car coming on the side of us ran their red light. Running through the memory in my head I still don't know how we missed but thankfully we did! Our Heavenly Father truly is looking out for us. This car was actually going double the speed limit and if we would have been one second sooner they would have hit the side of our car and most likely flipped us. We just missed each other by inches. Crazy and blessed! Make sure that all of you be careful out there and we will too!

Jack and the Bean Stock Continued...

Here are our bean stocks that we grew in our very own house! We put the beans in damp paper towel, put them in a plastic bag and then set them in a window sill to get sun light! Presto, they grew! The boys thought that this was pretty cool!

The Draper Temple

Yesterday we made a trip down to Salt Lake and were delighted to attend the open house of the Draper Temple! What a wonderful experience! Kayden was a little saddened to hear that the baptismal font was not a swimming pool, but thought it so neat how there were so many different pictures of Jesus on all the walls! When we sat in one of the sealing rooms Ryan looked up at the ceiling and just said, "wow"! They both thought that Heavenly Father's house was very beautiful!

Ice Skating!

We went Ice skating on Thursday. We went once during the day and then we went again that night with our ward. We had fun! Here is Kayden in ice skates which only lasted two seconds then he was back in his boots walking on the ice. The ward had donuts, hot cocoa, and chili for us! We had fun!
